NHS Trusts’ referral data
Since we first started in 2017, we have been collecting data through FOI requests. This map demonstrates the national spread of this data and gives us a useful tool to analyse how many nurses and midwives trusts are referring.

Prioritize Mental Health for UK nurses and midwives
28 nurses have died by suicide since 2016 as a direct consequence of their FtP cases. This is because of the profound and deeply personal effect the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s handling of FtP cases can have on registrants.
We are calling on the NMC to put mental health support mechanisms at the forefront of their operations.

We are committed to improving practice and workplace culture by positively encouraging registrants to reflect on and improve their practice.
We make no judgement about individual cases, but we are not here to enable poor practice in our profession.

We promote a culture of learning rather than blame.
We believe that those who cannot learn from their mistakes, are not prepared to move forward positively, who pose a serious risk to public safety, should be removed from the workplace by FtP investigations.
